An applicant for membership pays an application fee of $15 to the National Society and National dues of $20 for the first year. Additional children of the same parents applying for membership on an identical line at the same time pay an application fee of $10 each and National dues of $20 for the first year. Annual National dues are $20 per year. State and local society dues are separate from National dues.

Members and alumni responded with "Companionship with other youth who have similar interest and developing leadership skills," "FUN," and "acquiring hands-on knowledge of American History."

The average time is six to eight weeks. This may vary based on the quality of the application documentation, if the correct fees are sent, etc.

An Adobe fillable form is available under "Forms" or "Join" from the navigation menu at the top of the page. Sheets of 100% cotton paper are available from N.S.C.A.R. Headquarters for $2.00 per unit (4 sheets of paper per unit). The Senior National Board of Management recently authorized the use of four sheets of 25% cotton paper ("DAR paper"). Applications must be completed on paper that is watermarked either 25% or 100% cotton.

Applications are approved on a rolling basis. Generally the process requires approximately 6-8 weeks from the time we receive the papers. The member will receive notification by U.S. Mail and a copy of the application papers will be sent to the Senior Society President.

A member "ages out" upon his/her 22nd birthday and is no longer a member of C.A.R. He or she is then eligible to become a Senior leader at the Local, State or National level. Your C.A.R. membership number can be used with an application to join DAR or SAR. Additionally, C.A.R. Alumni members are automatically members of the C.A.R. Alumni Foundation. The National President and Senior National President has the power to appoint the National Chairman. They begin the process of selecting and appointing Chairman after the conclusion of National Convention in April. If you are interested in serving as a National Chairman or Senior National Chairman please speak with the National President or Senior National President.

Yes! All authorized users with an account have the ability to change their personal information through their profile. You can find your profile by clicking the drop down arrow next to your name at the top right part of your screen.

Only the account holder or Headquarters staff have the ability to update email and mailing addresses. If an address needs to be updated please request that the account user update it. Many societies take the opportunity to update information when the Treasurer's Report is submitted.

Headquarters staff and the Webmaster will try to respond to emails within 48 hours of receiving them. If you emailed during the weekend, we will respond to you on the next business day.
